 »Review:
Surf Life for WomenNot just great surf spots on opposite ends of the globe but a delightful children’s book about the adventures of two groms from these places. Kirra, a girl from Australia visits Rincon, a boy from California. They have adventures surfing together. During their adventures they learn geography, eat healthy snacks, practice ecology, have a ball sharing their “playground” with the dolphins and Kirra learns to conquer her fear of big waves. Wave terminology and information on surfboards, their sizes, shapes and uses is included at the end of the book for the reader’s edification. Written by elementary school teacher Shelley Kerr and her husband Justin, and dedicated to their son Donovan, “Kirra & Rincon” features colorful illustrations by Rick Hemphill throughout the book. A fun read for moms and dads of elementary students, and they can share the book with their kids as well!
